UFC 230 Fighting Odds – Cormier vs. Lewis MMA Lines

UFC 230 Occurs on Saturday, November 3, 2018 in Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.

Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier (21-1, 1 NC, 10 KOs, 4 SUBs) will defend his title against knockout artist Derrick Lewis (21-5, 18 KOs, 1 SUBs). The card issuers reside on starting 10pm ET.
Only one pay-per-view after the Khabib-McGregor superfight, the UFC is providing us a heavyweight title game. And it just so happens to feature among UFC 229’s breakout star:”The Black Beast” himself, Derrick Lewis. It is 1 thing to score a stunning, last-second comeback win in a fight you were getting dominated. However, Lewis topped that by following this up with the funniest post-fight meeting in UFC history, on the biggest night in UFC history.
That’s one way of becoming a star. And today, the one-dimensional knockout artist who never really seemed like a legitimate competitor is fighting to get the name less than a month after having a beating in the hands of Alexander Volkov. Daniel Cormier’s probably drooling at the notion of an easy paycheck. It’ll also be his first title protection.
Despite the UFC announcing a banger of a storm involving middleweight hulks Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa, the enormous Cuban has said that the struggle won’t be taking place. Though we really hope this competition happens, we are apt to believe the fighter when they said that they’re not prepared. Let’s hope he heals up in time.
If those 185-pounders do not get it on, there are still three mad great middleweight matchups to look forward to. The biggest of them is a rematch between former champions Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman, respectively ranked No. 2 and No. 3. Perennial contender Ronaldo”Jacare” Souza meets former WSOF champ David Branch, together with the two guys jockeying for a title position. The division’s most fascinating prospect, Israel Adesanya, puts his undefeated record on the line against No. 6 Derek Brunson. At times,”The previous Stylebender” looks like the second coming of a prime Anderson Silva, and everybody is expecting that this dude is for real.

UFC 230 Betting Lines, Predictions and Picks
Here is a weird story. In an interview with MMAJunkie only days after the Volkov struggle, Lewis came out and said that he had no urge to headline UFC 230. That he had already started eating breakfast biscuits and his cardio was nowhere near the level it had to be in to realistically challenge for the name.
He finished that interview by reluctantly saying that it would have a giant paycheck to allow him to jump into a title fight with one of the best to ever do it. Later that day, Dana White announced that Lewis will be battling for the name. Seems like someone got PAID.
Still, the UFC’s greed is revealing here. Lewis was almost finished multiple occasions, and it was apparent he could not survive five rounds. The UFC is putting him on a card under a month later? That is known as tapping a star turn. And while we love how honorable DC is, it sure sounds like he is cherry picking here.
The previous time Weidman and Rockhold fulfilled, the AKA surfer boy cracked the prior All-American wrestler and took the belt from him. Time hasn’t softened the grudge between them both, and it was a close fight until there. Rockhold has been knocked out two, suggesting that his brow is a severe weakness. Coincidentally, Weidman suffered two brutal knockouts as well before rebounding back against Kelvin Gastelum.
These two middleweights are great everywhere, though they have different approaches in each phase. Rockhold’s submission grappling is topnotch, but Weidman is a leading classic wrestler. Weidman can box with all the best of these, but Luke’s unorthodox kicks can do significant damage.
Ronaldo Souza can’t appear to catch a rest. Among the very accomplished BJJ artists to enter the octagon, he’s been in multiple title eliminators, just to fall short in each one. Beating David Branch probably wouldn’t seal the deal, but he can keep his name on a brief list of worthy challengers. Branch could vault into the title mix by simply taking out the well-regarded Brazilian.
Israel Adesanya has what required to be a celebrity: an engaging character and what’s more, an electric fighting style. He’s clearly a special striker, landing all eight limbs with exceptional accuracy and power. Of course, like all great standup artists, he’s got to pass on the wrestler test, also Derek Brunson – a former collegiate wrestler – is much more than capable to dish out that.
